The List: Best Baby Swings, According to Parent Reviews

1. 4moms MamaRoo 4 Multi-Motion Baby Swing

4moms MamaRoo 4 was the most frequently recommended baby swing by the experts.  It’s easy to see why - the MamaRoo 4 is an innovative baby swing that features five different motions to accommodate the baby, a multi-position recline for the most comfort, and an adjustable seat, among other benefits.

When trying to find the right recline for your baby, you don’t want to disturb them.  Have no fear! The MamaRoo 4 won’t wake your little one up, “The mamaRoo4 offers a smooth-sliding recline adjustment that can go from relatively flat to upright,” notes Healthline.

The MamaRoo 4 also comes with sounds already loaded, or you can play your own tunes. There is no baby that the MamaRoo 4 cannot calm down! Little Baby Gear agreed, offering their praise “If your baby is colicky or teething and calms only when you cradle and rock him in your arm, mamaRoo4 will be your lifesaver!”

The features don’t stop there - according to WhatToExpect, you can even “integrate the swing with Amazon Alexa and Google Home for hands-free soothing, and the Bluetooth functionality is even better.”  It’s easy to see why What to Expect called the MamaRoo 4 the “Rolls-Royce of baby swings.”

Key Features:

  • Multiple recline positions
  • adjustable seat
  • Smooth-sliding recline
  • Comes pre-loaded with a bank of sounds
  • Smart speaker friendly

2. Graco Glider LX Gliding Swing

The Graco Glider LX is best utilized for babies who prefer being rocked in a nursery chair, based on the motion of the LX. This model has six speeds, two vibration settings, and a wide range of sounds to choose from. The LX can hold babies up to 30 pounds, but doesn’t take up that much space.  Forbes notes that the swing “takes up 40% less floor space than many popular full-size baby swings because its feet don’t stick out as far.”

Does your little one need a little entertainment? Adjustable toy barNo problem. The Glider LX comes with an “adjustable toy bar to amuse your mini as they glide,” according to The Bump.

What’s most important is that your baby gets comfort from their Graco Glider LX, which according to National Today, you should have no problem with. “It provides infants with soothing motion and vibration that is similar to what your arms can do — it is even greater,” they write.

Key Features:

  • Six speeds
  • Two vibration settings
  • Pre-loaded sounds

3. Fisher Price Sweet Snugapuppy Swing

The Snugapuppy seemingly has an option to fit every baby’s needs. We weren’t alone in that thinking, Parenting Pod firmly agrees, saying that the Snugapuppy is “A swing that will have something for every baby, and it offers more unique features than any other product.” The swing features “side-to-side or head-to-toe swinging motion, two recline positions, and six swinging speeds. There are two vibration settings and 16 different sounds to soothe and delight your baby.” as mentioned by Healthline.

Fisher Price’s Snuggapuppy also comes with a cover that can be easily removed and is machine washable, and a puppy-shaped seat (hence the name!) meant to relax your baby.  Don’t worry, your baby will be secure, as the system comes with a five-point harness to keep your baby secure.

Most importantly, the Snugapuppy received high remarks for its quietness. Little Baby Gear specifically mentions that, saying that, “Baby can lie back and relax undisturbed. It’s really important because when baby is fussy, colicky or teething swinging noise might be annoying and disturbing for him. Therefore this baby swing is perfect for calming and putting baby to sleep.”

Key Features:

  • Side-to-side or head-to-toe swinging
  • Two recline positions
  • Six swinging speeds
  • Two vibration settings
  • 16 different sounds
  • Machine-washable cover
  • Five-point harness

4. Graco DuetSoothe Swing + Rocker

The DuetSoothe serves as a two-in-one, full-service baby swing. Featuring multiple reclining options, six swinging speeds, and a sound machine. The fact that the DuetSoothe goes side to side and back and forth is a huge advantage, as each baby is different, note Forbes.

Versatility might be the biggest advantage of the DuetSoothe, as you can pop off the seat and “use it as a portable rocking seat once your little needs a change of scenery,” addsThe Bump.

Though many love the dual functionality of a swing & rocker, some did not. Baby Gear Lab notes that, “Although 2-in-1 products are appealing, they typically don't manage either task as well as single-style products. This fact is valid for the DuetSoothe, which seems more functional as a rocker than a traditional swing.”

Key Features:

  • Multiple reclining positions
  • Six swinging speeds
  • Sound machine
  • Side-to-side or back-and-forth swinging
  • Portable rocking seat conversion

5. Munchkin Bluetooth Enabled Baby Swing

The “Munchkin” weighs in at under nine pounds, making it one of the lightest (and smallest) swings on the market.  Featuring five speeds and a three-point safety harness, the Munchkin is “lightweight, compact and effective,” remarks The Bump.

Baby List states, “If you like the idea of the mamaRoo but don’t quite have the space, you’ll want to give this lower profile, foldable option from Munchkin a serious look,” while also stating that the Munchkin was “sleek and smart.”

However, picky babies may not prefer the Munchkin, as it only has one swing motion from side to side and was rated on the gentler side. As the name of the Munchkin suggests, this system can “play music through the Bluetooth-connected device meaning you can pick your baby’s favorite songs or white noise,” adds Rookie Moms. This means you and your baby can both enjoy tunes together!

Key Features:

  • Lightweight and compact
  • Five speeds
  • Three-point safety harness
  • Foldable
  • Plays music with Bluetooth connection
